In which Ida discovers new ways to walk
In-game description of the level
The Water Palace is the fourth chapter, or level, in Ustwo's adventure-puzzle game Monument Valley. In this level, Ida 'discovers' that she can walk upside down, up walls, and so on.
Walkthrough[]
Part One
- Flip the gear to reveal stairs and make Ida walk up them.
- Walk to the top.
- Turn the middle to allow Ida to step on the middle platform.
- Turn the platform so Ida can step on the button, which turns another platform.
- Step back onto the platform and turn it again so that it connects with the other platform, creating an impossible triangle shape.
- Walk to the top edge of the triangle.
- Turn one more time to create a path leading to the door and go through it.
Part Two
- Ida will walk down the path leading to the next part by herself.
- Walk forward and press the button, turning Ida on her side.
- Pull the staircase above forward and make Ida walk all the way up the structure to the next button, allowing you to turn the whole platform. Do so to reveal the back.
- Make Ida walk onto the edge of the first part of the bridge.
- Turn the structure so both sides of the bridge appear to line up, then make Ida cross.
- Go up the stairs and then through the doorway.
- Climb up the ladder and make Ida step on the button, revealing the next path leading to part three.
Part Three
- Walk onto the platform and then turn it vertical. Make Ida walk a little higher, then turn it back.
- Walk onto the platform, now horizontal.
- Turn the other one again, connecting Ida's path with another one.
- Turn the small tan platform until you can enter the door here; do so.
- Talk with The Storyteller, then go through the door.
- Turn the platform so the path is horizontal. Cross it to get to the end of the level.
Trivia[]
- During Ustwo's fifth-anniversary celebration, Ida was able to collect a red outfit in this level.
